Girl Scout Cookie Hamburgers for your Doll

Thin Mint Hamburgers for your Doll. Here is a fun recipe to use with your Girl Scout cookies. Take two vanilla wafers, one GS Thin Mint Cookie, red icing and green icing to make these doll sized hamburgers. Take the first vanilla wafer and place it on a plate with the flat side up (rounded side down). Squirt a little of the icing (either color) on to the center of the wafer to hold the Thin Mint in place. Add the thin mint on top, with the flat side down. Decorate the top of the thin mint with green icing to represent lettuce and a little red icing to depict tomatoes. Finish off with the second vanilla wafer, flat side down. Enjoy with your favorite 18-inch doll!

Winter Hat for your Doll

Here is a fun winter craft for you and your doll. All you need is a knit glove (adult, one size fits all), scissors and a pony tail holder. We got our gloves at Walmart, two pairs for $1.25 and the pony tail holders are about $2 for a package of six, also at Walmart.
Take your glove and cut off the finger tips (including the thumb). Then slit open the sides of each of the finger on the glove (again including the thumb). Now your glove has a fringe look. Pick your favorite pony tail holder and wrap it around the glove several times until it is tight. Your doll has a winter hat. You can adjust the pony tail holder as needed or even switch out the pony tail holder to match your doll's outfit.

Backpack Craft for Your Doll

Here is a fun back to school craft for you and your doll. Make a felt backpack just the right size for your 18-inch doll. Felt comes in so many colors (available in pre-cut squares at local craft stores for just .29 cents), you can probably make it to match your own backpack. Michaels craft stores are great places to find wonderful accessories and even furniture for your 18-inch doll. Spring and summer are the time to look through the garden home decor section to find all sorts of chairs and benches that are designed as plant holders or home accents, but are really the perfect size for your doll. If you use one of the store's 40% off coupons, you can often get a good deal. If you happen to find an item on clearance, it is often 50-70% off the original price. Today I hit the jackpot and found this great wire chair at my local Michaels for just one cent! Unfortunately it was the only one left, or I would have purchased more.

Last Day in the Bahamas

All good things must come to an end...we have had a super time visiting the Bahamas and meeting Emily Rose at Home owner, Lisa-Marie Cabrelli and her family. This morning we took an early morning swim in the ocean and had the beach to ourselves. Our bags are packed and it's just about time to head to the airport. Katie is feeding the stray cats one more time before we head out.

Perfect Beach Day

The sun is out today on Paradise Island. Anna is modeling her Emily Rose at Home beach outfit. Yesterday we had our sea lion adventure, and got to pet, hug and get kissed by some very cute sea lions. We toured the Atlantis resort aquarium last night.

Here is the great view from our hotel room! We had a great flight and did some exploring today. Tomorrow we swim with the sea lions.

Bahamas Bound!

We are heading out to the Bahamas for four wonderful days of sun and adventure! Thanks to our amazing customers, we won the Emily Rose at Home sales contest for June-December 2010. The prize, an all-expense paid trip to the Bahamas. On top of that, we get to meet Lisa-Marie Cabrelli, and her family, founder and owner of Emily Rose at Home. We are so excited about our trip, and hope to post lots of pictures!
